Lydia is not here yet.
I have been drinking red raspberry leaf tea in hopes of inducing naturally, rather than with pitocin or something harsher at the hospital.
Tried walking… I waddle more than anything.
Thought about spicy food, but it would aggravate my indigestion
Sought help from my husband (If you know what I mean)
Nothing.
Nothing
Nothing.
I was having contractions every 5 minutes for about an hour yesterday, and then they just stopped. Like they forgot there’s a baby in there.
I’m so anxious to hold her. And as mean as it sounds, anxious to get the physical pain out of the way. I’ve heard, “The thought of the pain is worse than the actual pain.” Maybe so, but I want to get it done with and hold our little girl.
I got a check in the mail yesterday for $27.05
I promptly went and spent it at Publix
I had “Baby Club” coupons
So I got:
Whee. Money goes out almost faster than it comes in.
Still no baby yet, but I hung all her little dresses, and put away bibs, socks, onesies, recieving blankets.
I vaccuumed too!
Went to the Dr. today. I am 39 weeks 6 days. I am ONE FINGERTIP DILATED
ONE FINGERTIP? Hardly seems worth it! LOL
So, Dr. Talley says the goal is to have her by next week. He said, “I want you to make an appointment for next Monday, but I don’t want you to keep it.”
So…… It’s just a waiting game now.
Fred is working 45 minutes away, I don’t want to have to go to the hospital without him, and have to wait till he makes it back… but Oh, well. God is in control.
I made it to Target this morning and bought more baby clothes hangers.
Went to the library this afternoon, then Fred took me to Zaxby’s for lunch. mmmm… I love their crinkle fries.
We’re going to “try” some of the “old wives” tales that they say induce labor… .should have had spicy food for lunch….
still no baby.
I was able to go to the laundry today (in 73 degree weather bleah) all our stuff is clean and folded, I just need to put it away.
I did notice that the edema I’ve had on my lower abdomen for months has all but subsided, so I KNOW something is happening with my body. LOl
Going to shower then do eBay.
God has come through abundantly (he always does).
I got an e-mail yesterday AM from a very dear friend telling me to expect a visit from the UPS fairy.
When I got out of the shower there was a package, but it wasn’t from her.
It was this boppy pillow with this polka dot slip cover. Really cute!
SO, Today I was outside on the phone (It was a balmy 65 degrees this afternoon) and I saw the UPS man (not Frank our regular) coming up the walk with TWO boxes! I was shocked that they BOTH came here!
This was the first thing I saw! It is from the same Graco line as my stroller and car seat! I began to cry right away. I do not deserve the goodness and generosity of my friends.
Necessities for the bath. Until the umbilical cord falls off, I know all I need to clean is Lydia’s face and diaper area, but it will fall off, and she will need baths (lots of them) so these items will definitely come in handy!
A super cute pink bathtub! With polka dots! Infant to toddler!
Winnie the Pooh Hooded Towels! In YELLOW! My favorite colour! How cute are they?
These super stylish receiving blankets in pink, brown, green, dots and stripes! (I love patterns and colors!)
And these handy silicone sleeves for glass bottles!
I pray I can someday “pay it forward” $$ is tight right now, but God will and does provide. Amen!
as you may (or may not know) Fred had a $1700 car repair bill 2 weeks ago
his company is closed for 2 weeks for the holidays
He’s straight commission… that means no work = no $$
Things have been very tight.
I have been counting on a gift card someone told me they sent me so I could buy a diaper bag, bottles (in case I can’t breast feed, receiving blankets, bibs, baby socks and a few other necessities.
We went to church this AM, and out to eat afterwards. Indigestion still awful. We got home and all I wanted to do was get comfy. I took off my skirt and started reading some xanga subscriptions.
My phone rang (I was waiting for Renee to call) It was Mommy. She asked what I was doing, I said, “Just checking my e-mail, what are you doing?” She replied, “Sitting in your parking lot.”
She and Daddy drove 4 Hours from Ocala, FL JUST to take me to the store to get some of the things I still needed!
We went and picked stuff out, and less than 2 hours later they were back on the road on the way home! Who has the best parents in the world?
Let’s just hope I don’t go into labour tonight, I’m sure they want to get some rest before turning around again. LOL
OB tomorrow for 39 week exam. Ready for baby.. (Ready as I’ll ever be… LOL)
