I woke up and used my nebulizer because I couldn’t breathe.  Finished my treatment and tried to go back to sleep but now I am having a panic attack.  It has been a log time since I’ve had one.  My heart is racing, my mind is racing and I can’t breathe (but it is not asthma related – definitely panic)

I just want this to be over, and to sleep…

Please continue to pray for Fred and his sister as they will have to make a decision in the days to come.

They were looking through Annabelle’s photos and some of her paperwork last night.  Fred came across this poem clipped from a “Dear Abby Column”

    To My Grown-Up Son

    by Alice E. Chase

My hands were busy through the day,
I didn’t have much time to play
The little games you asked me to,
I didn’t have much time for you.

I’d wash your clothes; I’d sew and cook,
But when you’d bring your picture book
And ask me, please, to share your fun,
I’d say, “A little later, son.”

I’d tuck you in all safe at night,
And hear your prayers, turn out the light,
Then tiptoe softly to the door,
    I wish I’d stayed a minute more.

For life is short, and years rush past,
A little boy grows up so fast,
No longer is he at your side,
    His precious secrets to confide.

The picture books are put away,
There are no children’s games to play,
No goodnight kiss, no prayers to hear,
    That all belongs to yesteryear.

My hands once busy, now lie still,
The days are long and hard to fill,
I wish I might go back and do,
The little things you asked me to.

  • 10 years? Really?

    Friday, March 16, 2001
Sigh, I guess this is as good a time as any to begin a new weblog. Today at my job of six and a half years, my boss brought me outside and told me that Wednesday will be my last day. I have been looking for jobs for a while, but I haven’t found anything as of yet. It was like when I was 16 years old, I was dating this guy and I decided to break up with him, but he did it first and like a big dope I cried all day.
So after work, I had an interview, and then made an appointment for a manicure first thing Thursday morning. (A little treat for myself, besides the salon is right next to my “Old Job”) God it feels so weird saying that. Well, I better schedule a bunch of interviews because I need to find something to keep me busy. Since the age of 14, I have only been unemployed once, and that was when I was 17 – for two weeks…. Wish me luck!

    10 years ago wow.

Right now I am exhausted but can not get comfortable to sleep.  Lydia woke up crying and I brought her out to sleep on the couch next to me.  She couldn’t get comfortable either, so she is sleeping on the floor.  lol

10 years ago.  I had just left my dead end job at the deli – I had no idea what my future had in store for me.
3 states later, 1 miscarriage, 2 relationships 1 beautiful toddler, 7 years in health care, 2 cars, 100 lbs lost and gained, switched from diet pepsi to diet coke (haha), stopped dying my hair after 14 years, lost friends, reunited with old ones, made many lifetime ones.

Thanks for the trip Xanga.  I’m still along for the ride!
  • goings on

    Been busy, busy lately.

    • Lydia had her speech eval last week
    • Her Early Steps Teacher will be coming tomorrow
    • They are recommending Speech Therapy weekly, but more likely will be monthly.  :(
    • We’ll be going to a playgroup on Friday morning
    • She will be having a hearing eval on February 25th
    • The social worker just left me a message and I called her back and got her VM so I’m just waiting to hear back from her EDIT I Spoke to the social worker and they can not find a Speech therapist that will come to my home, so I have to take her to speech therapy, but she WILL be receiving it for an hour a week!  So, that is a PRAISE!

    • Jody (my sister) started her next round of chemo on Monday – so she’s again in the Hospital in NJ.  I can’t believe it has been 19 months since I’ve seen her (besides on Skype)
    • My best friend Amanda and I have a tentative scheduled Skype chat today.  (yay)  EDIT I did get to Skype with Amanda for a few minutes
    • I guess Birmingham Alabama got some snow because an order from Amazon is jammed there due to “weather or natural disaster”
    • Fred gets paid on the 15th and last of the month.  His check for the end of January was lower than expected, so after rent we had $200 for 2 weeks.  Not too bad, but he is in field sales, so gas needs to go in the car, I hadn’t gone grocery shopping since January 15th.  Fred asked if we could make it until February 15th.  I said, “we can try”  Thank GOD I had plenty of frozen veggies, and 7 bags of Jasmine rice in my back stock.  We also had all that Special K that I got for free, so thankfully we are making it.  Diapers come free from Amazon using my swagbucks and irazoo points for Free gift Cards.
    • Dishes and tidying today, then midweek prayer tonight!
    • EDIT I got 3 loads of dishes done, laundry put away, vaccuumed, baked brownies for a pregnant neighbor who is being induced at midnight.  (they were a mess, but I salvaged some)  And I won a CD from someone else’s blog.  cool!

  • Lydia’s Early Intervention eval was pretty benign.  They expect her at 2 to be able to say 50 words on her own.  She says 5.  She can say 10 others if you prompt her.  The woman was nice she can tell Lydia is smart, she’s just for one reason or another delayed in her speech.  She goes for a ST Eval on February 2nd.

Tomorrow she will be 2.  I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT!  I can not get over the fact that my baby girl will be TWO tomorrow!  Nothing really planned as Fred doesn’t get paid until Friday.  My parents got her a play kitchen that makes noises.  I assembled it today.  It was so cute, I “turned on the sink” and she ran over and but her mouth under the spigot.  lol  I wish I had caught it on video.

My beloved point and shoot digital camera is on the fritz.  We paid $100 for it when Lydia was a few months old.  (because I dropped the one I had before that when she was 2 months old)  They say point and shoots are on their way out, since so many of the smart phones take exceptional pictures.  The Canon PowerShot A590IS took awesome quality videos.  The same camera NOW on Amazon sells for over $300.  Ridiculous!  I’m going to have to start saving my Amazon Cards from Swagbucks.  Do you do Swagbucks?  I’ve earned over $500 in FREE STUFF from Amazon!   Sign up here.  It is open to US Residents, UK and Canada.

  • Paranoid Mommy

Lydia will be 2 on Thursday, and I am freaking out at her vocabulary – or lack of it.  She says 15 words.  I know we are not supposed to compare kids… but there is a reason these guidelines and milestones are in place.  I called to have Early Intervention come out and do an evaluation of her.  She understands a TON more words than she says, but I am concerned about her verbal skills.  The eval is at 10AM Central time today.  I will surely post an update later.

    GOD is in control regardless.
