  • I’m alive!

We moved 15 days ago.  We JUST got our internet hooked up!  I have nearly 2,000 emails to sort through, as well as still trying to unpack with a crawling 8 month old.  I will do my best to catch up on everyones blogs.

  • today was very hard for me.

Lydia was tugging on her ear yesterday, and sneezing, and coughing, and had a (clear) runny nose.  No fever.  She’s teething so I attributed it to that.

This morning, she was hacking a bit more, so I called the Dr. (New Mommy Syndrome) they said to bring her in this afternoon.

She was especially clingy, (Miss Independent doesn’t like to cuddle as much as I’d like her to anymore) RED FLAG.

I’d put her down for a nap and when I went in to get her I heard myself wheezing loudly.  Then…………. I realized it wasn’t me wheezing.

REWIND.  For those that don’t know I’ve been asthmatic since I was 15 months old.  I have very severe asthma.  Very severe.  Every day of my pregnancy and every day since Lydia has been born I’ve prayed that she wouldn’t have asthma or allergies or any other respiratory illness.  I’ve asked the LORD to make mine worse so she wouldn’t have to suffer.  After the episode in St. Augustine, I felt like the LORD was answering my prayer so I couldn’t be mad.  Every time I use my nebulizer Lydia tries to play with it, if I’m not using it, she still tries, and I swat her hand and say, “No!”

    Back to today:

I brought her in (she weighs 17 lbs 14.5 oz at 7.5 months) and she has the beginning of an ear infection.  The doctor told  Lydia, “we’ll get a treatment going and you’ll feel better.”  He stepped out and the nurse came back in with a nebulizer.  My heart dropped and I started crying.  I had to give her the treatment.  She cried the whole time, so did I.

The kicker?  They sent her home with a nebulizer.  The same one I have.  The same one I swat her and tell her no when she tries to pay with it.  I just had to give her another treatment.  I feel like my heart is breaking.

The Dr. said, “Not nessecarily asthma, but when a baby has an infection sometimes it manifests itself with asthmatic symptoms.”  We prayed as I put her down and I asked The LORD again that she wouldn’t have asthma or allergies or any other respiratory illness.  I’ve asked the LORD to make mine worse so she wouldn’t have to suffer.

It is times like these that I regret my tattoos (and realize that I haven’t had a pedicure in years)

I left her on the blanket and went to the kitchen to fix a bottle, here is what I came back to.  WHERE DID MY BABY GO?  (That stain near her Elmo phone was there when we moved into the apt)

  • I don’t get to comment like I want to, but I DO read when I get a chance.

I have a minute now.  Lydia is napping (who knows for how long).  She has been rolling over from back to tummy periodically.  She loves potty words, (such as poop, and puke) she CRACKS up hysterically when she hears them.  I’m trying to replace them with “boop” (when I touch her nose) and others.  It is cute, but I don’t want to start her vocabulary with them.

We are still considering moving in August.  Our lease here is up on August 14th.  Not that we don’t like out place, but we’re thinking about moving out of the area.  If we stay in Albany, we will stay here.

My parents are coming for a visit this weekend!  I’m so excited to see them!  If we do move(where we’re praying about), we’ll be a bit farther from them but not TOO far.

We’ve been working on rice cereal.  after almost every spoonful, she crams her fingers in her mouth, (almost as if to help her swallow) has anyone experienced this?  My mind seems so disjointed lately. (maybe you can tell by the way this post doesn’t flow at all – lol)

I watched “Fireproof” yesterday, I bawled my eyes out almost the whole movie.  Sherwood Baptist Church is minutes from our apartment, it is neat to see so many local places in the movie.  Lydia was born at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hosptial which appears several times in the movie.  I grew up in Red Bank, NJ where Kevin Smith filmed a lot of his movies, so I’ll have to see if any movies have been filmed in our “possible” new town.  lol

  • whoo

    • So, I went to the Dr Monday and I got another antibiotic and a burst of prednisone.  Bad thing is that they are both bad for breastmilk.  I’ve been pumping and dumping and have to do so for about 2 weeks.  I don’t know if it is affecting my supply (which wasn’t great to begin with) I pumped 4 times yesterday and didn’t even get half an ounce combined.  I do feel much better now.  I need to breathe to take care of her, so I had to compromise.
    • Lydia now has TWO teeth breaking through her gums
    • She has seriously located her feet, and the first few days she would try so hard to get them in her mouth and scream bloody murder when she couldn’t

    • She was on the floor in her boppy the other day and somehow flipped herself over it backwards!

    • I went to Kohl’s today and got 2 Carter’s bodysuits.  I had one set in my hand a 5 pc, that I already have in size 6 months, but they were $25, and I LOVE them (pinks and browns) I was going to buy the 12 months (to grow into) on clearance for $9.60, but then I saw another one I HAD to have (it was NOT on clearance, but it was 2 for 10) It is a surprise though.
    • My Dad emailed me some old photos the other day.  I finally see “me” in Lydia.  There is one where I’m probably 3 years old, and it almost looks like someone slapped a wig on Lydia!  LOL

    • Lydia will be 5 months old on Saturday, and our 4 year wedding anniversary is Sunday.  We are going to Pensacola FL for the weekend
    • BOO!  There were a few other photos I wanted to add, but Xanga is giving me the business right now…

Look what my wonderful Aunt Florence did!

Did you use photoshop?  Do you divulge your secrets?  LOL  Love you!!!

  • Just a few photos from the trip.  I have been on Facebook a lot more lately as I can update and upload photos from my phone, and that is a lot easier to do with Lydia.  I am in no way leaving Xanga.  I have been here for 8 years.  I plan to stick it out.

My Mother in law IS stereotypical New York City.

I tell people she is like Archie Bunker, but not as kind.  She always makes me cry.  She was GREAT with Lydia.  I don’t think I heard more than five swear words out of her!
