  • UGH

So, sure enough I got sick on Monday night. 101.5 Fever,  Vomiting and dry heaves for about 7 hours, couldn't even keep down a sip of flat coke or ginger ale.  Dozed on and off all day Tuesday, Went to bed about 8 PM Tuesday night and slept until Lydia woke up.

Lydia woke up, drank her sippy cup and her Daddy took her to jump on the bed while I skyped with my parents.  Then I hear, "Honey, Honey!"

I go running and get there in time to see her puke the contents of her sippy cup all over the hall carpet.  Yuck.

I change her diaper (still from overnight) clean her up and put on fresh clothes.  I give her 2 oz of the watered down powerade Fred had bought me yesterday.  (I had no pedialyte on hand - you do what you've gotta do) 10 minutes later that comes up.  Then I decide to give her a bath.  I wanted to give her one Monday, but we had no water, then I was down for the count Tuesday, so here we are.

Gave her a bath, she came out squeeky clean, dried and dressed her, told her NOT to touch the DVD's and took a shower myself.  I come out and she is sitting on the floor next to the DVD's, I said, "NO!  Lydia!  Mama said NO DVD's!"  She starts crying then runs.  I see she had thrown up behind Fred's desk chair and for some reason tried to run to the kitchen.  I clean it up and put back the DVD's.

I know it will just run its course like it did with me, but I call the Pediatrician anyway.  Keep an eye on her, if she hasn't wet a diaper in 8 hours take her to the ER.  At 3:30, after 9 pukes, and no wet diaper, I take her to the ER.  She throws up in the parking lot, and then once we get in the exam room.

They gave her IV fluids (after sticking her 3 times, the poor baby) and IV Zofran.  She fell asleep and woke up for a popsicle, kept that down, and had another.  Then we came home Thank GOD.  She's crying now, going to check on her.

  • Oh how awful. Poor baby. And i think watered down Powerade sounds great! Ella won't drink Pedalyte, so you do what you can...nothing wrong with Powerade! I hope she feels better. It's awful when your child is sick because you feel so helpless and they don't understand what's going on.

  • Oh my, Im so sorry sweetie.  Sound just vaguely similar to my day except, I caught the bug from the girls.

  • I hope everyone is feeling better in time for Christmas!!
