Month: January 2012

  • Almost had to have a funeral for my loaned laptop;

A Bob The Tomato (from VeggieTales) fruit snack got underneath it, and started to melt into the fan area.

    Really?  UGH!  lol

  •

Last night Lydia climbed up on the recliner and got cozy.  She was tuckered out after grocery shopping!  I (for the first time) brought the ad circulars from Publix and Winn Dixie to Walmart to price match a few items.  Fred has decided to go back on his low carb diet, so that means a lot of meat.  #Publix had ground chuck for $2.79 a lb.  It was $3.48 at Walmart.  I got 6 lbs because I sense I will be making a lot of burgers.  LOL  The cashier was new too so we both learned something.

When we went out this AM, one of the palm trees was about felled.  I didn’t hear it, so I don’t know if it made a sound.

    Downtown WPB Skyline.

We went downtown to Cityplace which is a “mall” but it is not enclosed, it is more like the streets of NYC with shops and boutiques.  It is cute, and parking wasn’t as hard or expensive as it is in NYC!  I needed new underwear, and I am very choosy.  I only like the Lane Bryant cotton hipsters with the thin band.  Yes, they cost more than “packaged” underwear, but If something has to be comfortable, it is underwear.  They were 5 pairs for $30, (normally about $14 a pair) but then they had some on clearance for $3.99 each.  I got 12 pairs.  I can actually say I have underwear that is older than Lydia.  LOL

Then we went across the street to Rita’s

I got Lydia a watermelon gelati, but she was more interested in youtube on my phone.

It is 77 degrees out today, so we went oustide and found a bench, Lyd found a friend.  Fred met up with us to say hi before he headed to Physical therapy.

Home and doing laundry now.  Lyd spilled fruit punch on her dress so that was one of the first things to go in!  LOL

  • Lydia letting me know what each letter is.  Now we need to work on the lowercase ones!

  • @HisLadyOfVirtue this is what I get when I try to read your blog via the app. But I am NOT set to browse anonymously. Hmmmm

  • Lydia and I have taken to going to Chick fil A on an almost daily basis just to use the slide. Today we had lunch. I had gotten a text for a free spicy chicken sandwich with any purchase. I was glad to see that this location now has grilled chicken nuggets. They also have awesome chicken noodle soup. Even though it is 75 out it is frosty in here so I had a soup to go with my sandwich.

She is now burning off energy on the slide. I love having this Xanga app. I can be here more regularly now.

  • so I was playing with my look and feel about a month ago, because I felt it was time for a change, but I didn’t like my new “look and feel” and couldn’t get back to the old one.  so I used this one.  Is it irritating?

  • Reading

One of my old xanga friends who moved onto blogger @homekeepingheart won a kindle touch last month. She sold me her first edition nook at a steal! I am currently reading “Little Women”. I never read it growing up, and it was a free download. I love to read and I don’t read nearly as much since I had Lydia. At bedtime I let her play with her Mobigo for 20 minutes, and I read. It is a little special time together.

  • iPhone app

Is anyone having issue with the new app? I am unable to read a few of my subscriptions (way back when known as SIR) on my phone. I says I need to enable my footprints, however they are enabled. :/

  • How has Xanga changed or impacted your life?

I have forged lifelong friendships with people I have met on Xanga.  I am so blessed because of it!  In March, I will have been here for 11 years.  I think back to 20 years ago and what we now take for granted as the internet was something so furturistic sounding.  I am so glad that Xanga has brought me and some close friends together.

I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

  • Friendship Experiment

@JodyBlue you don’t blog here anymore, but you were the first Xangan I met in real life.  You were travelling from Washington State to visit family in Lancaster PA and I begged hubby to take a trip out there for the weekend.  You disappeared from your other blog and Facebook too. I miss you.

@ShamrockLover @rmb724 @Giantsis Haven’t met any of you in real life, but I am so glad to count you as friends.  You were all there for me in a very very very difficult time in my life, one that I hope is over.  I thank you for your kindness from the bottom of my heart.

Kelly it was neat going through our first time pregnancies together.  You are a beautiful soul and a great Mom!

Liz, I think it is awesome that you post random things on facebook that I’ve thought.  You make me laugh.  I am glad you are taking some “Liz time” you are such a giving caring person.

Rachel I know you’re going through some trials of your own right now.  You’re continually in my thoughts!

@HisLadyOfVirtue The second Xangan I met in real life.  We were both newly married.  You living in Oregon, me in NY.  You moved to NY, I moved to GA, you moved to AZ, back to Oregon to CO.  I moved to Florida and my some crazy coincidence the Bible College you were taking correspondence courses was in the next town over from me.  I remember updating your Xanga when you had Naomi and then calling you when Lydia was jaundiced and you put me at ease.  But that day in June 2010 when I picked you up at the airport it was like we’d known each other forever!  I know we don’t talk much, but that is how some friendships are.

I love you ladies fiercely!  I am ALWAYS here if there is anything I can do for you!  My phone number is on FB call or text anytime.  ((hugs))
